Pupil Leadership Team

Prefects 2023-2024

As part of our citizenship education, we believe that children need to experience duties and responsibilities that come with being a member of a community, in order to help them prepare to play an active role as citizens.

At Greengate Juniors we believe that prefects, junior governors and play leaders have a very important role to play in the day to day organisation of our school, and as only Year Six pupils are allowed to apply for this position, it is considered to be very important.

The position not only allows the Year Six pupils to lead by example and demonstrate their responsibility, it also enables the younger children to learn from model behaviour of their peers. Every junior leader has to apply for their job and their applications go through a selection process. They are elected by the staff. The first round of applications takes place in September and throughout the year more children are chosen to join the team. All junior leaders are awarded badges in a whole school assembly.
